Members of the Flames of Virtue Christian dance troupe in the Chattanooga, TN area express their love for God through the fluid movements and rhythms in their dance routines. For the last 3 years they have fundraised year round in addition to hold a spring performance every year.
Choreographer and coach, Victoria says, “I require my dance families to participate in a service project every semester, because God put on my heart that we are not here just to consume the world’s resources . . . but to give back. Children need to learn at an early age the importance of giving, and what better way than to help those too helpless to help themselves?”
Throughout the year each student works to contribute toward the fundraising total by spreading awareness of the need for clean, safe water. The“One Well for One Village” fundraising events have included motorcylce rides, walk-a-thon's, play-a-thons's, silent auctions and performances by each of the classes.
So far they have raised enough money to fund 3 water wells and are on their way to funding a 4th before the end of 2015!
